Phase three sold for $750,000

Just when you thought the $680,000 paid was too high. Sydney morning herald have run a story of a phase three selling for $750,000. These cars will hit 1 million and it will be soon. Makes our cars look cheap. Also a comment was made as to when the bubble will burst and a good point was made. The people paying these prices will not sell them cheaply so that alone should keep prices high.Muscle cars are out performing property and shares with no tax to pay. There is still some years in it yet i think.

Cotch 03-06-07 16:14

Monday morning another one from shannons auction is hoping to pull about 650,000+. I totally agree, theres only a matter of time till they hit the big MILL!

vlgra 03-06-07 17:08

Yes i can't see it slowing down either. When the madness started i thought it would only last a year but its going out of control. Easily a couple if not more years left in it till they stop rising.

ANK 03-06-07 18:00

how many of these where made?

I&J 03-06-07 19:09

Should be interesting to see what the GT goes for tomorrow night, with in mind that it has had a fair hit in the rear quarter, think I might head down there myself if I'm not working.

Some believe they will slow down once they hit the million mark but look at american muscle. 1.3m 1.8m 2.4m. When they start rounding to the closest $100,000 thats insane. It could happen hear too especially if america starts recognising australian muscle cars. It could happen.

a family friends owns about 3 of these! :) he's the president of the gt club...

Epitaph 03-06-07 21:11

only thing is there is only about 5-10 cars in that condition in australia, once they all sell once, the guys who have them will hold them for a while you would imagine

Peakn 03-06-07 21:21

Thats grouse.. they are very nice car.
Can we please post some xy gt pics
i love them

ITG-05Z 03-06-07 21:28

most people who own them are the enthusiasts too if i had that cash laying around i wouldnt hesitate to buy one i love these cars and are worth every dollar they are worth it will be my next car but a replica of it as the real thing i cant afford unless i win the lotto hehe

I did a wedding for a guy who had 3 x XY GT HO phase 3's and one of them was his wife's daily driver!!!

Cptn.XAV 04-06-07 11:36

the yellow HO from the shannons add sold for $850K+
and a vermillion fire moffat HO sold for about that too

SIR SLE 04-06-07 17:35

My friend has recently purchased a wild violet black interior phase 3 from Tasmainia, it had been resprayed red during the 80's as the owner didnt like the purple color, the only way you could tell was from the id tags and a little bit they missed near where the radiator sits.

He is going to restore is back to original glory.

He paid $250,000.

To own a GT falcon your name legally needs to be Spiro!

I&J 04-06-07 22:02

The Phase III got $525K - the guy owns Grand Tourier
The XY GT $212K (a new record)!

one of the guys that missed out on the HO went for the GT (guess if he didn't get one, he would get the other), so he drove the price up but didnt end up winning it

Epitaph 05-06-07 11:15
