here in indonesia, we usually don't bother using the original upholstery cloth, because it's almost impossible to find the new one...
we usually re-covered old seats upholstery & doortrims by replacement synthetic leather by the interior specialist... it's cheaper too, compare to the original cloth, as well as real leather... for just about US$150, you'll get the new covers of seats upholstery, doortrims, and in some garage, they give you bonuses of gearshift lever and the covering of the shiftknob as well...

I tried a Red dye on my Calais interior about 3 years ago, the front seats and door trims I spent forever on rubbing it in and it still looks good, but the back I didn't spend so much time on so it rubbed off and still rubs off to this day and looks awful. And even now the front rubs off a bit.
Something to think about, but you definitely need to spend the time on it and if I had my time again I don't think its worth it rubbing off into your skin and clothes. Its hard to get out and your always worried about it. |

hot soapy water on a hot day
either that, (sounds bad i know) but car wash, high pressure hose the seat and then use their vac too suck up the water from it...and surronding floor... and again wait untill its going to be like 30-40 degs too dry it out, but it comes up really really good |

Baby wipes, you know the ones you clean sh*t from baby buts with, work well with most types of stains. Just keep working the stain with a clean section of the wipe. It will seem to spread it out to begin with but will eventually lift it right out.

Awesome, i tried a little bit on the back of a door trim and it looks really good, just need to pull my finger out and clean the interior before I spray it.
