**** they look similar, are those fords on the road yet? VE looks better though, and I'm worried about how the front of that ford looks, have to say it doesn't look hopeful.

The same guy that has the green Calais that I hate bought a Fairmont brand new with Tickford bits a few years back, was a giant piece of junk, the rear rusted right out in a year or 2 and and it needed 2 sets of front wheel bearings within the first 6000km..

Dad picks up his new Territory tomorrow, he's had his current one for 3 years now, it hasnt been to bad except for 2 sets of balljoints and the odd piece falling off. Pretty ****house build quality though, no paint in the engine bay or fuel filler area.

Really? I've driven all the new HSVs and Commodores bar the Omega and can't say I've found them to be dogs. The chassis beats VZs hands down. They perform and corner like no previous Commodore. Much more stable and predictable. The non V8 models are really just let down by their motors. 195kW really isn't enough to motivate the new, heavier body. The SSVs on the other hand...faark! Bloody quick and very easy to drive. The extra low down torque of the 6.0 is really noticeable over the previous gen 5.7 V8s.

The Rodeos do seem to be pigs - but then they are just rebadged Isuzus! My flat mate has had countless issues with his work Rodeo - it would be around the same vintage as your old mans, maybe even a few years younger. He's on first name basis with local Holden service dept!

Haha, well perhaps they only ever make Rodeos on Friday! Flatmates one has had a numerous gearbox issues, leaving him stranded more than once. Resulted in a new gearbox. Then it had turbo issues. Again leaving him stranded. Few other bits and pieces that I've forgotten too. He's since swapped into an early 90s Hilux!
