Hey guys! got another stupid question ( I know... im full of em :P )
Im getting my car lowered with King Springs Ultra Low's in the rear and Super Low's in the front. I'll also be running 15x6 interceptors on the front and 15x7 on the rear. I was just wondering for all the people out there that have lowered there vl's on 15' ceptors, whats the best tire size/profile to get that wont rub with this set up?? Iv tried doing a search and have found multiple threads on king springs stances and lowering a vl and all that, but havent really found a thread about tires! My apologies if there is one and i have missed it!

Sorry for all the silly questions guys

Thanks

Have you tried Becarparts.co.nz? Otherwise rare spares would be the only option.

Rapid performance in Timaru can do custom chips to put into the ecu, once socketed. Still not the easiest method. They also do nistune chips which would be the better option since it gives real time feedback.
Im sure someone up there would also do nistune.
Also instead of modifing a factory vlt ecu you could totally get a na ecu and either custom chip it or nistune it to get the exact same results. Only downside is you won't have a knock sensor board. I talked to NZEFI awhile back about nistune and they usually disable the knock sensor with nistunes anyway since its such an old and unreliable system. The reason behind this is to buy a na ecu you will be looking at $50-$100 for a factory vlt it is a lot more expensive.

Does anyone know the deal with speedos between different models? I have put in a speedo which was from a 3L auto into my vl and at 100kms, from gps, it reads 10km more on the speedo. Could that speedo just be buggered? Only reason i swapped was because the odometer had stopped on my old one.

ten k out is not to bad, ours at 50 k is 6 ks faster on the GPS but seems to come right the faster you go.I have a 2012 Ford ranger(4x4)that is nearly 10 k out at the 100 k mark(like yours)So I would not worry to much,What size tyres you running?

Cheers marty

yeah mine is easily 20kmh out ie 80km on speedo is 100kmh on road !!!!
only thing i can think is the manual conversion may have caused something or my tyre profile which is 65 instead of 70 ( factory ? ) or the cable needs some lube or or or or .................. its a vl !!!!! haha good luck

Usually its from changing the wheel/tyre size. There is a place that can make the speedo drive gears to suit your setup cant remember what there called now

a good driver.

because a good driver can use many cars to their best
but a good car wont help crap drivers.
