The HDT's twin was/is stroked. But that was done at HDT.
But you are right everyone will mod a car to suit there tastes. But as to values a car will always attact a bigger dollar unmodified.(check ebay)I am not having a go at anyone becouse I believe that everyone to there own.For me, I like to have them original.
The other side of the coin is those people that modifiey them have looked after the cars and they will always be around in some form. And no matter what they can be turned back to the way they were.
I love going to car shows and seeing the effort people have put into there cars.Take Alex's Walkie rep.Awsome car and done correctly.I wish I could undertake something like that,But that is not me.But I still love the look of the whole thing.
My project at the moment is a 75 GTO which I am restoring for my little girl.It will be her first car.Two weeks ago I traveled 1200ks in a day to get another doner car so I could use bits to restore the one I brought.
For me I like to hunt up parts and do most of the work myself.
I will try and hunt up another Vl for the wife.Hoping to find a VL GTS in mint condition. But we will wait and see.

Cheers Marty

Haha, my badge is still in original condition! Pretty much binned the rest of the bits. I actually tried to find info on the car before I started my project. I determined it was basically a NZ only dealer special (to get rid of excess stock probably!) and not really worth any more than a boggo VL, so let loose with the tools.

ive never bothered with any of mine, its the modifications that matter, last time i got checked the old plate was referanced against the new one and could be verified and linked.

oh ok thats good, its just the cop that pinked me few months back checked it out quite in depth id hate to get done on that again.
Ive spoken to a guy about it already and he had said if you change number plate it makes the cert plate void if its stamped with the wrong rego #.
Kinda got me thinking its one of those things ya damned if you do and ya damned if ya dont!!
just another thing for picky cop to poke at.

i'd welcome that road side discussion. its a simple check against the vin-job done. It also cripples the ongoing modification process. i would imagine that there would have to be common sense on behalf of the inspector. But its a calculated risk...technically were in the wrong

That sound like shyte! If I was you I would take that up with the LTSA,All the rest is the same VIN and Chassis,If you need to change your plate to sell(personlised)Which a lot of people keep their plates,I would say there is a whole lot of people out there who could be in the shyte!Surely it cannot be right,Will check with the man who certs tomorrow.

Cheer Marty

I have checked,It may of been the case a few years ago but not now.The next mod plates the get printed will have no rego space,And also the where the mods go that will be bigger as people add more mods to there cars(there was not enough space before)Also told that if there was ever an issue before they would track the rego plates to prove that it was the car issued with the mod plate.
So you have nothing to fear. This info is from a gentleman who certs the cars(Motueka testing Station)And his name is Barry Dowler.

Cheers Marty
