225s are a piece of cake, but 235s are still easy to fit (with basic guard rolling)

got a quote from mag n turbo in Christchurch for new springs, shocks and panhard bar fitted for $1500. Also $1000 for new tires, fitted, balanced and wheel alignment.

Dont know how good it is, might ask around a few other places while i save a bit.

when I had my suspension first done at mag n turbo New Lynn, it cost me 1300 installed. Dobi SuperLow springs, Monroe shocks all round (which I've replaced with some KYB's), and a Nolathane adjustable Panhard rod. looking back on it, 1300 is heaps haha oh well. could probably get the same stuff for less than 1k if you shop around, and cheaper still if you can get someone to get it thru their work (trade price)

I've got 245s on the back of mine. Don't seem to rub, but I haven't driven very far, or had passengers. There is more clearance in the rear, especially if you've had the guards lipped. The only reason you can't run them on the front is because the tyre hits the bottom of the spring housing. I'm guessing this wouldn't be a problem if you had coil overs...

my bad. pretty amateur at this.

Cobra springs, Monroe shocks, some type of nolathane panhard rod.
and 225/35/19 Neuton NT5000 tires.

Does that mean its possible to run 245s on the back and 225s on the front or will that be unbalanced?

Never heard of Neuton tyres. Probably some Chinese sh1t. You should always spend as much as you can on tyres; they are the only thing that keeps you on the black stuff.
I'm guessing that the $1000 was for four tyres? Hyper Tyres seem very competitive and they have prices on their website - just tap in your tyre size. They will either fit and balance, or deliver your tyres for free.
http://www.hyper.co.nz/drive/tyres/

There is no reason why you can't run a wider tyre on the rear - many performance cars come standard with wider rear tyres. You will have to bear in mind that you won't be able to rotate your tyres front to rear, not that many people do it anyway!!

Yeah man ring Nick at Hyper, he's given me good deals over the years. You should be able to get a better tyre for that sort of money

$1,500 sounds expensive for what you listed. Monroe are average but they're cheap so no biggie there, but I'd at least get King Springs, and replace the major bushes with polyurathane ones. You will be able to buy springs and shocks through Hyper also and get them installed locally. Install should only be a few hundred plus an alignment

Next step up from Monroes are KYB or Pedders, then up to Koni or Bilstein

Yes ! Thats if you can find one though. Should look at buying one of them non-flip ones from ebay.

I got backed into by a van and their towbar went through my bumper and smashed up all my number plate I know how you feel.

---------- Post added 14-11-10 at 19:49 ----------

Even though weekend was started not so well got a bit done.
Put on new 290mm discs, some VN calipers, spray painted the drums black and new rear shocks. They were so worn that when you compressed them they didnt even move back to normal under no load. So next i think ill do the front shocks and some new springs all round.
