1969 Ford Capri

Just introducing a project that I'm starting alongside the vl. Always wanted a '69 Capri and found this so snapped it up. At the moment it's just a freshly painted rolling shell. There are a few details in the body work tat I'm not 100% happy with so will get them sorted before i put it all back together. Interior will be re-trimmed in black leather before going back in, and either going FR's or convos. Anyway here are a couple of pics to get it rolling

Sweet, should be tough as. Back in the day my dad had a 69 Capri with a 327 Chevy (yes I know.... Chevy in a ford), power glide, 9 inch and all the goodies. Its given me a bit of a soft spot for these, love the look of it and it's just a shell atm lol

Is it engineered for a v8 ? If not you'll find it tough to get it passed these days unless it's built under icv rules .

Not engineered as of yet. Wanted to get the body ready first before exploring legality conditions

Thanks bud. Any suggestions on engine options for this thing? Would've loved an rb30 but there's the whole ford versus holden thing. My original thought was to throw a 302/toploader in there.

A supercharged coyote 5.0L would be cool but probably pretty expensive lol

lol no not considering the rb30 for this build. What I meant was that since my last one I really wanted my next project to be a big rb30 one. Barra is actually an option although I can't see it getting engineered legitimately. Been trying to call the engineer for the last week or so with no luck but will try again today Thanks for that number btw mate

Steve that had NOHOPE red vl calais is doing one with the 4.0L turbo, but he's had to recess the fire wall and all sorts of stuff. Not as easy as you would think.

I'm not surprised given the length of the 4.0L. A few guys have done this conversion, noting extensive mods to the firewall/tunnel. Right now my two main options for a heart transplant are a Ford 302/351 or a Chev LSX. Speaking to engineers to try and see what I can get away with
