VL Berlina Project

Hey all, I've been working away on my Berlina for a little while now and finally got in into a respectable state. Still a lot of little things needed before I'm happy but thought I'd share a few photos of what I've done and a bit of history. I picked up the car 7 or 8 years ago from an old guy in Waihi, was stock 2L five speed. Paint wasn't too flash but no rust around the windows and interior pretty tidy. Sold it to my brother and we then put the RB20DET in that I had kept after my R32 had been written off. After living in London for 2years I came home and decided before finding a job I'd tidy the VL up.

This is what it looked like before starting.

Next step sanding and pulling apart.

Primer and some colour.

Back together but not compete.

Current.

Need to get out and get some better photos of it now so will update this thread as I do. Motors not running 100%, had the standard turbo rebuilt and now its cutting out a bit under boost but pretty happy its running finally.

Not sure why the photo's aren't working? Can anyone see what I've done wrong?

Nice vl man keep up the good work, you should buy an standard rb25det turbo, they bolt straight on and are a lot better. keep the updates coming.

Nice work bud. Looks very tidy. The red and silver look good together. So good to see another VL getting the love.

cheers guys.

NZER, seeing your car progress has kept me motivated, loving the attention to detail you have.

Mike, I was thinking about the 25det turbo but ended up just sticking with the standard one, it was a steve murch rebuild so should push a bit more air than standard.

Not sure what programme you used to host the pics, but with photobucket there are different links and you have to use the one with "IMG" tags to make the photo appear on the forum.

Car looks good man. I've always liked those VT SS rims - kicking myself that I never picked up that set I saw at Pick a Part all those years ago!

Cheers NZ GTS, i forgot to add the [img] thing before and after. I'm not too fussed about the rims but they are all I have at the moment, can't justify Simmons but saw some TSW Carthage rims that look pretty good so might look at them towards the end of the year.
