couldnt shift into gear at all only got it into 3rd gear at 3/4 track ,it just wouldnt go in i ended up braking the nylon bush off the bottom of the shifter trying .
oops it was 128mph too ,only went 89mph to half to if i remember ,not that it matters though.
i had 4600 pound jim berry single and managed a 1.62 60ft slipping the clutch to get on boost.
33 box is heaps better to shift esspecially with short shifter!!!!!!!!
put my 33 box in and took it out that night with gtx45r 40psi e85 and didnt sound too good by the end of the night..

with all that you have u will manage a 10 no worries.

check my run out on u tube type in "psi06 manual vl" i think , u can hear my great gear changing ability !!!!!!

Good to hear there are still people building fast manuals around, everyone seems to give up and go auto these days. I'll be running with an R33 for my build, from what ive heard they are remarkably strong for a factory box.. I'm more worried about the rear end breaking

Tru it's good to see ppl building tuff manual setups but how many boxes u goin to change b4 u get over spending 1k replacing boxes? Mines manual and will be ready to go next week but also have a glide ready for wen the 33 box breaks, cant justify breaking more then 1 b4 i go auto.

That's not to say u won't run a 10 or even a 9 on a 33 box consistently but eventually itl by night night for it.

Btw my setup is 33box, DCS twin plate, proboost 42, e85 n 40psi.

When i break mine, im putting in a PAR or PPG gearset. After speaking to the owner of temper however if anythings gonna break, its gonna be selectors/synchros.

JET3LT told me to stay away from redline oil as he had plenty of boxes go down the craper with it I think he was over 500rwkw at that stage

When he changed to castrol synthetic he was getting alot more life and now I think hes got redline oil sponsorship on the car so I guess thats what he is running.

Id been chasing 10's for a couple of years and having good SA rivalry between the Manual record holder here in SA ive wanted to take his position. Its taken a lot of time, money and patience. Im slowly getting closer to his time of 10.24@139 if my memory serves correctly.

In the process ive done numerous damage....

I blew 2 R33 Box's and colapsed the rear end and bent tailshafts before i got a fully built PAR gearset gearbox made by Mr Transmissions. (whos in my sig) So far the box has seen about 40 passes and dozens of powerskids. Its still going strong. Ive been hassled and criticised for sticking with a manual box. But IMO if i went Auto id sell up and move on.

Its a straight cut box with syncro's. Best pass so far is a 10.6@135mph. Im still chasing a lower number before it gets gas. My intentions to run a 9 second pass then retire back to the circuit.

My pass on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muzOMmJq6Nc

I'd love to do 10's or less with a manual in My car, but its only going to be hopes and dreams on My wage . As PSI06 mentioned, I have major issues shifting in to 3rd and 4th in My MX7 once the revs get past ~5,400rpm.

Jase is running Royal purple max gear oil, 75w. There was a thread around here not long ago where i asked him.

You'll never see an auto in my car. I'd rather go straight from an R33/PAR box to a liberty or Gforce, either that or sell up and get a circuit car.

Hopefully when ive finished my setup it'll break a 10, problems im facing atm are traction, and wether to put roll cage in it and tub or leave completely standard body as i dont want to **** the car too much.. hopefully it wont twist either

I have run a 10.2 at 139 with my r33 gearbox, never had 1 box issue and i was running redline oil...
But did break 3 tailshafts but 2 were just standard two piece shafts and the one piece shaft was made out of cheese by hardy spicer for me..
1.52 60ft
All up had run nearly 30 launches down the 1/8 and 1/4 mile.
Car had 35/40 turbo on 24-25psi on pulp with octane booster. Made 450kw at hubs on a hub dyno and 385rwkw on the mainline rollers

Getrag Toyota 6spd runs 8s in a heavy ass supra
That's a std unopened box!

Gotta love how Toyota over engineer everything
How hard would it be to convert 1 of them to fit an rb?

Although there not cheap!
3500 just for the box
