just read thru this whole thread, as i am doing an mx7 to r33 conversion soon, i must thank some of you because there is so much info in here, but really there is so many contradictions in this thread i feel i am now worse off having read this thread, and feel even more confused than ever.

hopefuly it will become clearer with the boxes and motors sitting infront of me, i will take some photos along the way to hopefuly clarify some of the misconceptions in this thread.

How's the accuracy of your speedo now Bax?

I wouldn't say you could really judge the speedo being out by 1Km/h without having it tested. The VL speedo system can very easily display an incorrect speed via a twisted speedo cable.

cable you can use but a bit longer.
Will need a manual cross member
Depending on the clutch determinds which starter motor

All the GTR boxes are 4wd, they will have a transfer case hanging off the back of them.

The box you want is the GTS-T box from the R33, or the GT-T box from an R34.

What's the difference between R33 and R34 clutches Ben? R33 is push type, R34 pull type?

I originally went for a os giken triple plate because I got one for a steal, installed the thing with the converter & then pulled it out and sold it and went for an npc cusioned brass button pull type.

Most of my decision to change was information I got that the push pull convertors had trouble keeping up with fast gear changes & would cause unnecessary wear & the guy I brought it off brought it for a 6 speed & didnt tell me & had to f around with the carrier to get it to fit.

Push pull convertor swimming in grease.

My r34 box.

it should have a u-bracket on the end of the pushrod which you can use to adjust it. i think usually theres some sort of bolt that goes thru it and the pedal, and a circlip holds it in on the other side. Don't see any prob with using a nut and bolt, just as long as it doesn't have too much play (ie so that the bolt is only a wee bit smaller in diameter than the actual hole).

yer thought so mate, but im pritty sure your right with having something go thoguth it with a circlip as iv put a bolt on it and its made the clutch pedal real tight.

So ill have to look for something like the brake pedal has with that circlip in it yer?
