does it wash off when you steam clean the seats and how would you go geting it on your clothes if they were wet

is there a difference between S1 and S2 calais red interiors, i swear my dash and carpet are darker than that, somebody please help i want to try this myself. also does it rub off on your clothes? i my legs sweat something chronic when im in the car and i dont want the red paint to get on my clothes lol.

Hey,
i've been doing a colour change, from grey to blue,
you need a lot of cans. Ive used four and so far all ove done are the rear seats. So thats $40 just for the rear seats. Probably need 6 cans for the two front seats...
then you have door trims, glove box, roof lining etc if u wanna do that...
gets expensive,
looks good though

doesnt dry hard at all... feels just like before! I would imagine you would need about 12 cans to do the whole interior though... i wonder if its worth it

when changing colours is it possible to go from a dark colour to light one without wrecking the feel of the seat?

don't know mate
i just chose the colour that was closest to my original colour

you could always test it somewhere small and inconspicuous? or on some other material? let us know how you go.

yeh thats what i was thinking,
i just gotta get some seat rails sorted out first as the ones ive got wont fit the seats for some reason...

hmm, interesting product

It appears to be an air curing dye (ie it adsorbs into the fibres as opposed to a paint which would sit on the surface).

It'll be interesting to see how UV tolerant it is.

Hey good thread Slayar! I've been looking into re-colouring some slightly sunfaded grey headrests.
Has anyone tried the createx transparent fabric paints from airbrushshop listed here
http://www.airbrushshop.com.au/products-paints.shtml

They have some good colours including grey [5129 code] that looks pretty close to vl grey, and a tint white and tint black.
Looks like you could spray it then rub it in with a gloved hand like Slayar did.

just did this to a S1 burgundy interior used about six cans to do the seats and door cards used the poppy red color there was another colour, but it had too much pink in it. came up real nice and blended really well ... excellent article
