To Speed up Power Windows
Use So Easy One step Tyre Care by CRC on window rubbers.
Take them out apply So Easy, then clean & put back in.

hey matt

Hey Matt,

VH/SLE, VK Calais, VL Calais swithes are all the same !! So if you want broken switches hunt for VH/SLE & somehow the brains of a wrecking yard blokes thinks its cheaper so you might pay less for the swithces .

I got my main switch changed over (for 1 that is almost new-mint con) for $60 .
I said I need a VH/SLE he said sure $60 change over

Just some thoughts.

P.S Matt is a man of his words. Keep up the good work mate.

Hey Jet and everyone else,
Just some advice on slow power windows. I used to work on Fords, and we found that if you spray silicon spray in the tracks, and be very generous with it, open and close your windows a few times, and the silicon gets into the window track rubbers and there is no friction between it and the windows. Another cause of sticky and slow windows is of course worn motors, but another that no one thinks of, is mis aligned windows. Align them to the tracks, and silicon spray them and you will have very few probs.

Good call, yes slow windows are a pain, but at the age of these cars all of the factors stated will be slowing them up!

Tricky Power Windows

G day one and all
Thanks for the great site
I have had some on going sagas with my power windows over the years. At one point I rewired the centre console switch and turned it around so as the rear, little used switches, became the front switches. That worked well for about four years.
Now tho, there seems to be no pwr to any of the windows for downward operation, if i swap the blue and yellow wires in the backdoors they can be made to operate in both directions, using the door switches
My focus is now shifting to something in the wiring diagram called "power window overrun switch"
Does anybody know where this is so as i can check it out?

Regards from a new member.
