Sweet all set to go then! It can't be much more expensive to head over to NZ for a few days than it is to go to your local?

Have you looked at Flying to Christchurch then catching a bus to Methven Mt Hutt? I'm guessing it would be a lot cheaper and Mt Hutt is sick!

2 weeks... I sometimes fly down to Mt Hutt for 2 days skiing

Back yards are worth doing though

Im planning ahead pretty early this season as I've decided to fly over to Nz for approx 1 1/2 weeks.Ive looked into heaps of package deals to fly over with accommodation and lift passes, although the travel agents have no idea when it comes to what is, basically the best mountian to venture.I hear good things about Queenstown but I was wondering if any of you guys can give me any other options.

Queenstown
Good night life, average skiing/boarding at Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and at a stretch Cardrona (1 hour drive). Full of tourists

Wanaka
Average night life, but awesome skiing/boarding at Treble Cone, plus average (but good amount of snow) at Cardrona. Less tourists and I prefer the town and skiing to Queenstown

Methven
Very good skiing/boarding at Mt Hutt which gets the most snow out of the major South Island fields. Methven town is pretty small, old and has a few pubs, but night life isnít very good. A lot of locals and very few tourists. Also close to a few good club fields such as Broken River and Craggy Burn which are awesome if you get to them after a big dump, but only if youíre an advanced rider because there arenít any groomers or chairlifts. Methven is only an hours drive from Christchurch also so getting there will be easier and cheaper

Let me know if you've got any questions because I've skied and spent a lot of time at all major ski areaers in NZ as I use to work in the industry

Seems like a bit of mucking around? Why not just fly direct to Vancouver? Twice the price I guess??

yeah and also stopping at a little place called honolulu is a bit of fun

My neighbour had one of these: Dodge SRT-10, 8L V10 from a Viper
He never drove it when i was there (icey roads..) but he started it up all the time (-20c kills batteries)
