just my 5 cents, when my calais was a stock N/A 5spd
this advanced timing to 17 deg BTDC, Pod filter boxed in and a PVC pipe leading to the front bar, Pacemaker extractors and 2 1/2 in mandrel bent system and mesh screens taken out form the air flow meter also i ditched the friggn airconditioning system from the motor, it was just dead weight and slowing me down, i also runned it on optimax, the combo was good until the motor died then i went turbo.

i'm new so i tell ya what i have.
rb30e, SURECAM custom grind, chiptorque dyno tune, port polish, extractors, 2 1/2 zorst, hi-flow cat, cai, lsd.
and its a 5speed. best run of 14.8.

now i have just made a twin throttle body manifold and have yet to get it tuned so i have no idea of power figure now.

DEANO on this forum has the same setup on his skyline and i think his best time is 14.6

Hey guy's Im a newby, I have a n/a exec, 5speed, with a few mods; a full aerotech interior, superlow king springs allround, s****y 15" auscar rims, calais boot strip, tacho dash, tinted windows, extractors and a 2 & 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust, sports uni filter, and custom airbox, where i took off the snorkel at the front, and covered the hole, then cut a hole in the metal under the box, and made a 4" plastic tubing cold air feed to the front bumper for the "ram-air" effect, It seems to work well. It also has a pretty good alarm system, and a reasonable stereo. Umm, also a sports steerer, and pedals. It goes quite well, but i seem to have lost my 1st and 2nd gear synchro's on the down shift, its ok going from 1st to 2nd. Can anyone tell me why its doing this, it was working when i took it to the mechanic for a bearing replacement, but doesnt work now! Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

why mess wit a falcon throttle body, the twin throttle body vlt intake is a real beast, i recommend you change the whole thing to that, it'll giv u all the airflow and 'grunt' you'll need (hopefully) lol

a ford xf throttle body is another cheap but very good investment. u have to do a few mods to the plenium chamber to get it to fit but when it does fit youll love it

Im contemplating of ditchn my vl rb20 thing and goin back to a N/A RB30, Im just wondering has anyone ever tried raising the compression ratio of a N/A to like 10 or 12 with the aid of a copper head gasket just that from the looks of it everone has done porting and manifold, exhaust mods but what about bottom end mods?

Hey guys,
I got a VL sl NA nissan 6, 5 speed manual with a

- Redback 2.5" exhaust ($450) and cannon which looks pretty sick.
- Also i have a custom airbox which i used 4 inch tubing to feed my cold air induction down to the front bar. Makes pretty good power (about 8hp on my GTECH pro meter i got off ebay for $130) (RRP $395) and it cost me only $10 tops.
- Wild Cat extractors which gives it abit more power ($75not fitted).
- Advanced timing 20 degrees (Nuffin)
- XF throttle body ($80 all up)
Hope this helps some of you guys as to what you can do to your NA VL and also if you want photos of my exhaust or anything else, email me beejay_is_@hotmail.com

I ran a 16.7 at willowbank with a stuffed auto and no extractors. I now have both these fixed and am keen to see how these effect my times.

r there any good injectors that will run with standard ecu? i originally planned 363'2 but they wont run with my ecu.

whats the point of puting bigger injectors onto a car that doesn't need it!!!!!! you wont need bigger injectors on a NA VL its a waste of money

I emailed a guy who bought one of them things not long ago.

It was just a resistor that you solder onto a wire coming from the CTS, so your car thinks it's running colder and dumps more fuel in.
$8 is an expensive resistor.
