The SR5 is a Toyota right?? The old man had a 4 runner which was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like about the 4 runners was it was 3wd LOL. Not 4wd. The Jeep is a different thing all together. Has the part time 4wd or the full time 4wd. Which is handy. Especially when you don't have to jump out of the cab to lock in your wheels.
Abit of 4wd in my area.

Which is pretty good riding in the motocross bike.

I got the MN 2011 2.5TD

Make sure you use vortex or ultimate diesel. These motors are reknown for carbon in the inlet manifold causing em to run rough. This is the ONLY downside to them and can be easily prevented.

Stay away from Rangers/BT50s. The manual ones are weak. Clutches flog out only after 60000 to 80000kms! Good for me coz I get to replace em for my customers Don't know about the auto though.

The hilux sr5 is an awesome car, the Ironman rep in WA has one, and can't fail em. Only thing is the price tag!

Looking at getting into 4x4ing.

Selling off the VT to partially fund it.

Looking at Hilux's. 2.4 Turbo Diesel. Only stipulation is that it has to be able to tow a boat successfully through places like the spur without feeling like im holding up traffic.

Will a 2.4TD be OK for this, or should i look for something bigger? Boat is a 4.2m fibreglass with 115hp outboard but might go bigger in the next 2-3 years

Agreed!!! I started off in a hilux that I stil have and I also brought a GQ patrol, the difference is amazing! They don't call them rollux's for nothing I have nearly rolled mine 3 or 4 times.

Going from a hilux to a patrol changed my view of 4x4ing, would never go back.
