3540 is way to big for a RB20, youll need something along the lines of a 3071r which is still even pushing it

I'd just stick with the 25 turbo... They're good for great top end and the 20 is a torque monster to ebgin with so should be an amazing power curve with the for 9".

If your after power an RB20 is the long and hard road to travel. Personally I would start with a better power plant eg RB25, RB30.

If your talking turbo engines then you need capacity.

Your buying all the right gear for the wrong engine. You may have vested interest in your engine, but your kidding your self all the same.

You will be pushing reliability and chewing your fingernails down to the bone making figures that can be obtained with half the funds and materials and still give the engine long life.

Dont want to rain on your parade but its an RB20 and your after power, do the math.

This could work, but you'd probably need to get a custom manifold made for it, and maybe need to low mount it too.

GT2530r is a good match for the small capacity RB20 or if a little more lag isn't a problem then a GT2871r.

If boost starting at 4500rpm and full boost by 6500rpm is your thing then by all means....

Hey, that's all cool for dyno figures and running down the quarter mile (like your KE20) but I'd rather a GT3540 with .86 rear for driving on the street with a RB30.

Same as I'd rather drive a RB20 with a GT2530r which will provide a nice linear power curve.

The perfect Turbo would be a xr6 Turbo IMO (nothing that same 4.11 diff gears wouldn't fix) a nice external gate would sound awesome too, or a t3t4. There's a vid on youtube with a s13 rb20 t3t4 ex gate sounds and goes awesome IMO check it out
