Daniel's VL Berlina Wagon Turbo

This is Daniel's first VL turbo after owning a N/A that was stolen and stripped by some losers.

This VL is a genuine VL turbo Berlina Wagon with all Calais options and Calais front. When he bought it, it cost him $6300. There where no mods done to it as far as he knew. One of the first mods that Daniel did on the car was replacing the standard exhaust with a 3 inch mandrel bend system from turbo all the way through. Next he had the car fitted with 17inc VX SS rims to give it a better look.

After that it was boosted and put on a switch that allowed Daniel to go from 7psi (low) to the 13psi (high). The Trans had starting to slip through gears and the engine had done just on 200,000 kms, so he decided to buy a new engine and box. Daniel found a engine that had been rebuild not long ago and had a turbo that was high flowed and had a T4 wastegate for better boost so he grabbed it. This cost just under $2500. The old engine and box where ripped out and the new system was dropped in. To keep detonation down and prolongue the lift of the engine, an AVO stage 2 intercooler was installed and subsequently boosted to 12psi. This resulted in 168kw at the rear wheels.

After about 2 months of satisfaction the trans lost second gear (Daniel wasn't too happy about that). So he decided to buy something that would withstand the battering from the brick that is strapped to his foot. After some searching a Jatco 4 speed which was fully rebuilt with extra clutches, Kevlar bands and all the good stuff. It also came with a 3500 high stall so it can really launch off the line. Once in the car two trans coolers where setup to keep it at a cool operating temp.

As everyone knows you need music will driving so Daniel went out a bought a full pioneer system that really sounds nice. Daniel says the only thing left to do to the wagon is upgrade the computer and paint the front bar after it needing replacing after the cooler was put in.

The car is currently for sale if anyone is interested, Daniel is looking at around $7,500ono so let him know if you are.
