253 into vl

hey guys just wondering if anyone could give me some help on putting a 253 into my vl. is there much needing to be changed??

just got a 304 or 308 mate

ive put a 304 carby engine in my vl. you need to change k frame. radiator. tailshaft, autocross member. depending or weather you go efi or carby. wiring changes etc

true that! when doing engine conversions, the engine has to be from a car new than the one being converted!

and also why bother with a 253 they are reallly lame

You would have to check with the SA Road authority engineer, I have heard of VKs with a 4.2, you would probably need a full emission rochestor set up, a lot of messing around when a black 4.9 would be please the Authorities more but I know what your saying, the blue 4.2 is cheap power, just add a cam and extractors.
If you change to a V8 K frame you will have to use VK or V8 steering as they are different to VL6.

anyone know of a thread on how to do a vn 5 litre conversion?? was thinking turbo but love the noise of a v8.
