subs sounding really weak

hello people. ive got a vl with a pioneer head unit, pioneer rear speakers , 1000watt boss amp, dual kicker comp subs. ive had no problems with the sound system until afew weeks ago when i wanted to listen to my subs they were very weak and only worked like under 5 volume. ive checked the fuses of the amp, roughly checked the wiring and it seemed ok. just need some suggestions of what i could do. thanks

I nearly have the same setup LOL. I'm Running a kicker amp(KX200.2), kicker amp(KX650.4) & two kicker solo baric subs. Haven't had any issue's. Also with a Alpine single din deck.
How many ohms does your amp run. Is it a 4 channel amp?? Are you running four speakers off that or are you running the speakers parallel??

I agree it sounds like you're not getting enough power to your subs, I'd recheck the settings on your amp but also I wouldn't trust that boss amp either, most, if not all of there stuff is garbage.

+ If you're unsure what you're doing with your amperage I'd take it to an audio place before you blow you stuff up

well, you said that they were working then they just became very weak?

possibilities:
1)Your voice coil blew (heart of the SUB)
2) your amp screwed up and isn't outputting enough power
other than that i doubt it could be anything else

Unfortunately those 1000w boss amps usually just pack it up when ever they want, they were cheap for a reason. My guess is the amp is dead. Try another one in it place.
