Get a duramax or something.. A bigblock was never going to be economical. A duramax won't be that great either, but gotta pay to play.

end of the day glad we put the 454 rather than a diesel.. why? because it would have cost more in the end, and still been illegal to tow either boat. regardless, the 454 can pull over 2x the legal towing capacity of the cruiser, which is 2.8 tonne. wheel base and brakes **** us Last edited by PSI-EFI; 17-12-10 at 15:46. |

Yeah you would need a light truck at minimum. Probably tow it alot better to and be more frugal.. I say get a race car/boat tower

the question is how much to fork out.. boat gets towed to melb once a year. yet in narooma its 4 kays to the ramp and thats all it goes, there and to servo.. towing over 70 kays is scary as all **** man, **** bricks. last time we towed to from melb to narooma with the cruiser we snapped a brake line in eden going down hill, with no brakes omfg.. lol. managed some bush mechanics **** but the way we doing it, your stopping car boat and all with the sensabrakes, big risk.

Here is photo of my rig ..88 bj70 Swb cruiser 3b diesel 340,000 clicks no smoke does nt burn any oil . . Most reliable vehicle Iv Eva know ... been every where mt. Dissa , toolangi , warburton , wesburn . On a weekend bassis . Been on 4 ottway hard tours .. And 4, week long high country trip s never broken down . After 1 of the ottway trips I did get the transfer rebuilt but I did nt brake down . had wheel bearings changed a few times as u do when the thing goes swimming every outting gear box has been whining for 2 years but still going strong .. And it has copped a smashing in the bushi do have much respect forit and don't go out to stuff it but some tracks as we know are impossible to pass with out mulitpul attempts and lots of wincing ... Looking at upgrading to a tough tourer landcruiser Hdj79r .. locks 35s .. so I can go on longer than 1 week high country trips ,. As the Swb is a tad slow on the black top and a bit small
