my vl has 2 1/2 exhaust from cat back with the crap knocked out of the cat sounds like it wants to pop a flame, sounds mad and cant be defected, cutting holes and **** is just stupid , pacemaker extractors would also help

Some suggestions:

XF throttle body
2.6litre magna injectors (mate put them in his vx achieved a 4kw power increase)
increase the idle(100-200rpm)
If you can afford to: Octane boost!

everything else has pretty much been said, thats my 2 bobs

can anyone tell me how much a 2.5 inch exhaust from the cat back would cost and where abouts to find one or anyone who has one for sale

auto or manual?

Manual probably a 15 assuming you have a 3 inch exhaust, everything else standard as your gonna need a custom exhaust to fit the engine as a skyline one obviously won't fit.

rb25 isn't sh!t dale, its much more of a motor than the 20 if thats what you are thinking. They can make great power and love to rev, they are also a newer motor with generally less kms etc.

But in the end, i too would rather rebuild my rb30e to a fresh et and work that for the money

i thought it would give more power, it didn't. IMO the only way to really wake an n/a without serious work would be a manual gearbox.

yeah so true mick, 4.11s or 3.9s and a manual gearbox, CAI... would make a nice combo and still look stock as a rock visually even under the hood

3.9 or 4.11 gears and a manual gearbox. Extractors will do pretty much nothing.
