HIGH COMP who is the fastest?

hey guys, just curious as to who has the fastest/quickest high comp setup.

how far can hi comp setups go and what internals do the fast hi comp boys have.

also, as far as bottom ends go, what can you do? as in without touching the stock n/a compression, what internals can be used and recommended for high compression

I've also chucked an N/A donk in mine to pass some time before I get a proper rebuild, if Scooters VL is anything to go by there is plenty of potential if you don't mind replacing head gaskets.

i'll be running just a stocko n/a rb30 for a while.. hopefully not too long but we'll see how it goes.

Scooters is a good setup now, that cometic head gasket has lasted months at decent boost and power... healthy dose of meth helps

mark VLT88 is running 12.50s on a 300,000km old NA bottom end. Lots of passes and still has the 25 spline diff!

looks like competition is heating up, didnt really think there was this much interest in high comp?

but everyone is using stock bottom ends, good to see to be honest, but what is out there market wise for high compression as in pistons

i think lars (poohkies) is actually running a standard na bottom end with some decent boost through his 35/40 setup since his other bottom end popped..

mmmm, Looking at this thread, I'm wondering if anyone has worked out
how thick the gasket/plate would have to be to get the comp down to what
it is on the standard VLT motor ?

higher comp = less boost required yes/no? low boost needs more yea? I once read on this forum 3PSI= 1 point in comp, so in saying that wouldnt a high comp engine running less boost make the same power on less boost ?????
All in the tune detonation is the killer of all engines N/A or othewise

Thats correct, more power on less boost, Methanol injection helps to bring down the intake temps to stop detonation, so if you were wanting to run high boost on a high comp engine then Methanol is going to help.
