Help with vn 304 v8
Hey guys ive just bought a new car 1989 vn that is fitted with a 304 v8
It starts but is missing and it keeps blowing two of the middle fuel injectors, ive replaced computer, dizzy cap, plugs, leads, fuel reg,ive retimed it, tryed different coil etc. I replaced the two blown fuel injectors and went for a drive and it was going great, got home tuned it off then started it about 10minutes later and it was running like ****. turns out the two injectors i replaced shat them selfs like the last ones. its had headwork done to the engine and ive done a compression test with all high numbers. Any help or ideas would be awesome Last edited by Madvlmike; 16-02-13 at 14:03. |

my guess would be fuel reg at end of fuel rail, but i see you have changed it.
Kind of sounds like its pressurising the fuel rail. That's a strange one. Have you tried goggling the same issues?

You've got a spike in your loom somewhere, try get hold of another loom or remove yours and check its not arcing on the block etc

When i wiggle the loom to the injectors well the car is running the revs drop so im guessing its to do with that. i need to get some more injectors before i cant do tests.
I can feel the pulse coming from the injector plug when its running so maybe i got back luck with the new injectors blowing like that |

Are you buying recons? Sounds like they may just need a recrimp. The ones you have might not be shagged, just under powered

the meter will show if you have a ****ty connection. You can check the hall with a multi aswell. Its a square wave, an automotive multimeter will allow you to run it and monitor the wave
Theyre worth the investment (100ish)
