Well the welds are just to hold the booster into place.. If you get it welded properly I wouldn't expect it to happen.

welds wont break if u know how to weld. one thing i have noticed is that the firewall flexes when you apply the brake. so im gonna drill new holes in the vl master cyl/strut tower bracket to help support it. i'll throw a pic up when its done

What’s the deal with the VS Master Cylinder Reservoir, the hole doesn’t line up as a lot of others have mentioned in this thread but in the first post it says to use VS Reservoir?

You have to be joking...never trust a single weld to keep it all secure....use jimbos page as a guide and you bend your old bracket and weld it to another flat fabricated bracket ...you could even use the 10mm bracket but this setup doesnt depend on one single weld for strength and uses the original studs and nuts for strength like it was designed.... any weld just keeps everything together so it bolts up......use this site http://users.bigpond.net.au/jimbo123/VN/ under mods as a guide. its for a vn but the setup is the same for previous models like a vl

I've just Bought the VT upgrade for my VL (VT discs, VT calipers, VL to VT braided hoses). If i get the VN up front brake lines, can I still use the braided hoses that I got? If not then I'll just get the VL ones re-flared |

hopefully its just the master ones that need to be changed. although if im taking the VL lines out anyway I mite as well just get them re-flared rather than buying later model lines. na i dont have the vs booster or vt master cyl yet, but thats the combination i plan to do (vs booster, vt master). and no my car is not turbo. Yet ![]() I'll let you know how i go. Mite be a while tho. Also, Does ANYONE know whats the deal with the VS Reservoir on the VT Master? In the 1st post thats what the dude says to use but everyone says that it doesn't fit? Is there any other reservoir that'll fit on AND sit on the correct angle? |

Parts? what parts? nothing yet but I will be needing VT master, VS V6 booster, and a reservoir. probly all of which i'll get from Advanced or something.
AND I would prefer some line adapters too, so much easier. Emailed ENZED a few weeks ago, explaining i was after some adapters to convert VL lines to VT master, and they told me the VT flare (cant remember what it was called, single or ball flare or something) is illegal! WTF its a newer car???? |

yeh good luck finding the expensive adapters, it will work with the VT tank,i have a vs booster here if you want it,i thought the hassle of the adapters wasnt worth the money so i went to the wreckers, yeh it only cost $5 to change the flares, there are 5 to change front 4,rear 1,dont need custom hoses just use VT and bolt the bracket to the body near the old one

ohk well i've got the front custom hoses anyway so i don't need to worry about that.
when changing the flares, who did you get to do that? and do the lines need to be taken out or do they do it on the car? is the booster working fine and is it a v6 one? how much do ya want for it? |

To help with the confusion why some of you can fit the master cylinder and others cant VT commodores came out with two (2) different master cylinders. Firstly the difference is one (1) is an ABS version the second is a NON-ABS version. The ABS version has two (2) fittings close to the front that go to the ABS module. The NON-ABS version is the one (1) that you need for this mod as it has the outlets like in the pictures. I hope this helps with some of the confusion.

Don't you mean the master cylinder (not the booster)? and wouldnt the ABS master have only 2 fittings (that go to the ABS module), and the Non-ABS have 3 fittings? |
