RB30DET Intake manifolds
Who's done an rb30det conversion using the rb25det.
What intake manifold did you use. There's lots of Chinese made copies of the greddy front facing intakes but are they any good ? In my experience with Chinese made copies there all exactly that, copies. Not very well made nor do they mate up very well. I've been looking at the CPC an hypertune intakes but they all appear to weld to the factory intake manifold thats been machined down. Dont really like the look of them but if its the best thats out there theres not that much i can do. Ive stuffed around with making a flange out of a piece of billet but the bolt pattern around the water galleries is the stumbling point. Any ideas? |

Yeh, theres lots of different brands out there that are all basically the same an most that im aware of come out of China. How can you tell the difference between a good one and a bad one. And is there anything else better out there

Hypertune's the best in the business bar none. And they use billet runners, not factory.

Sorry, bit of clarity around the hypertune, CPC quote. Yes hypertune makes everything from billet but they dont make anything for the RB25, well not that I have found. They do make a great one for the RB26DETT and theres lots of different aftermarket manifolds for the RB26DETT, unfortunately the bolt patterns are not the same.
At some stage CPC did do a grafted RB25 intake and i believe they still do a grafted street version RB30 intake and they too are moving to all billet manufacturing. |

Plazmaman's another option. When I had a 25 i'm pretty sure someone was already selling a flange to mount a rb26 Greddy plenum onto a 25

Thanks for the info.
Plazmaman do a bolt on top half for the RB25. They do have complete bolt on intakes for the RB26 in a variety of forms and a very sexy complete unit for the rb30, it falls under car porn. There were laser cut adapter plates being made at some stage but i have not been able to narrow down who actually made them. either way they are no longer being produced. From what I have found out about these adapter plates was that there was an issue with the injector placement. With the plates fitted the injectors were too far back in the runner and angled wrong. I do not have any proof of this, it is merely what i have read on the net. |
