Pointless, they will still find something even if you adhere to
the code, ask any traffic patrol, same with engineers reports.
cheers

after market plenum

Hey just reading though this, looks to me that fitting an after market plenum would be a defect according to this statment from the doc

Vehicles manufactured on or after the 1 January 1986 (ADR 37).
This category of vehicle may only be fitted with an ADR 37 complying engine (i.e. an engine designed to only
operate on unleaded fuel), which incorporates all associated components. The fitting of an engine other than an
original or optional engine would require approval from Transport SA.
No alterations to the engine’s camshaft, inlet manifold, carburettor/fuel injectors, air cleaner or catalytic
converter are permitted.

Actually thats rather interesting about the cat, 20 years old most of the honeycomb rattle these days and if you replace it with a hiflow cat and they look under your car are they gunna defect it even if it probably produces less toxic gases?

Urgh, i've had a read through the Bulletin 3, and sounds annoying to bring a vehicle from interstate and register it here. Reading the transport SA website, quote -

"Unless you hold a current interstate registration certificate in exactly the same name as the intended South Australian registration, the vehicle must undergo an identity inspection to confirm the correct identity of the vehicle" source - http://http://www.transport.sa.gov.a...gistration.asp

Now, im assuming these vehicles will be checked not only for identity, but if they look modified, they will also be checked that they comply with SA's ADR's as well. Which pretty much rules out, bringing any modded VL to SA.

"No alterations to the engine’s camshaft, inlet manifold, carburettor/fuel injectors, air cleaner or catalytic
converter are permitted"

Has anyone tried to register a modded VL they have bought in from another state? and if so, did you have to go through a full inspection?

I registered mine, but it was registered in exactly the same name as the intended SA rego, hence all I did was fill out a piece of paper and it was
