I looked into this a few months back, i was quoted $2500-$3000 for a 2pak job. That included rust cut out/repaired (front and rear windows), new front bumper (non genuine), whole car color coded and also the mirrors, windscreen black side panels and plastic bit between tail lights painted 2pak black. Also straighten out some front panel damage from a previous dodgy repair effort. I was going to go ahead, but decided i would like a holiday in europe instead . I decided to get a new bumper painted and fitted, and i also got the car detailed by a pro ($250), and it came back looking like brand new, got rid of a heap of chips and scratches which you cant even tell existed. I just give the car a full polish and wax with Meguiars every 3-4 months to keep the paint in good nick

Hope that helps.

Thats a pretty good price for all that work being done! Were you getting the same Colour again or were you planning a Colour Change?

Well i thought on changing the car to black. but that would have cost between $5500 - $7000 that was way out of my budget.

The best bet would be to goto places where get qoutes best way really and then you will find out..

It also depends where you go some places do charge the earth but do a good job some do **** jobs....

if you know someone that can spary get them to do your car might be even cheaper..

For a good/show quality full respray top to bottom in a gloss or metallic colour it'll be around $7,000 (but it depends on what workshop you go to and who you know)

anarchy - no offence, i dunno where ya get your prices from mate, but a bare metal strip, prime, rust repair and 2 pack job is way over the 10,000 mark. and there is very few shops that actually use acryllic anymore apart from old school guys that still charge a fortune.

go to some shops up your way, and get some WRITTEN quotes and take it from there mate. im only going off the general going rate down this way.
Someone has dug up this thread mate, those quotes were 8 years ago.

Just to go a level deeper, how much would paint alone cost, how much would you need for a respray, same colour.

Paint alone will vary depending on what brand/type of paint you use. Roughly 10L for a respray if i remember correctly

There was a company in melbourne doing closed doors for $2,000. I'd say $2,000 is about the right money for same colour closed door (prices would go up from there)

At the end of the day a re spray is only worth what the customer is willing to pay.

When you start adding the costs of material, parts, labour and all the rest of it it gets

pricey But just like with everything else in life you get what you pay for.

Average paint depending on body 2.5 - 3k

Show quality 15k + with ease!

I would have used 8-9 on my VL after painting inside out every panel, engine bay, boot and

flow coating the whole car.
