flow coating is over rated pal. if you can actually put clear/2k down properly, a quick 2000 and 3000 face back and cut/polish will save a f uck load of unnecessary work and the same result.. engine bays take about 500ml to 700ml of paint, boot, about the same, door jambs ya do with th rest of the body if youre going far enough to do the boot and engine bay anyway, so not a significant amount, i can do a full inside out respray in base and clear with about 4 litres of basecoat and 4 litres of clear, and thats PLENTY. you would have heaps of left overs. 2k colour id do the whole lot with 5 litres EASY. i dunno where some of you guys get your figures from.

i get my figures from what ive done, not from the net. We've done many re sprays for many cars and the results speak for them selves, simple as that!

agree with ya Phase 5 if ya can put it down properly you dont need to flow coat it. its more for amatuers in my opinion put down right the first time. it does depend what colour your painting because some dont cover very well but thats why you put a base down first 10 litres of paint is ridiculous.

Amazingly enough flow coating is still used by some of the best painters.. bloody amateurs.

if anyones looking for a painter i recommend sunny from 121 smash repairs on cranwell street in braybrook/sunshine , painted my f250 that was an absolute pig of a body ( ex ambo ) and straight off the gun no orange peel, no **** ups, just a dead straight body and beautiful smooth black paint, i spent $5700 but that was cab and tub, inside and out, quite a fair price, and the paint is near on show quality, minimal bog was used, holes in the body were welded up and smoothed flat, dints that werent able to be knocked out were lead filled, i was honestly stoked with what i got for my money
