88 n/a idles rough, won't rev above 2k

Hey there guys! I gotta an 88 manual that needs desperate attention! Lol. Firstly, the car was running, rich but well. I drove for 2 hours, parked it. Went to start it next day, ran like sh*t. Idled real bad, and will not rev above 2k. I've checked the AFM, replaced the fuel pumps, checked sparks and leads.. All good. I've rest the computer and checked the codes.. No probs there. I've flushed the fuel and cleaned the injectors. And even replaced the FPR. I've checked the timing, all good. Soooo... buggered if I know! Even the local mech can't figure it out. It does however, have and after market piggy back ecu, and the car won't run without it. If anyone can help, that'd be grouse! Cheers, Brett

Not revving above 2000 rpm is an AFM issue. Did you try another one?

maaaate exactly the same problem on my car.

THE BLOODY CRANK ANGLE SENSOR!!!!

have you played with your dizzy lately? becuase if you pit it in on the wrong angle, that can make it run like ****.

try and get a dizzy of a car you know to be working, but before you take it out, note the angle.
