hi jono in the effort of the the panel beater to suck as much funds out of me as possible ( on the hunt for the infamous leak ) he convinced me to weld that up. i dont want fans and blowers unless they are on the engine . also i am going to have holes or a hole in the bit of steel on engine side above firewall so that heat from turbo can escape from bonnet vents. i have moved fuse box inside also.

My windscreen was leaking when i first got it after pulling most of the dash out trying to find the leak it was in the left hand corner where the windscreen wasnt sealing properly.Took the windscreen guy 2 or 3 attempts at and a couple of windscreens that he cracked before he fixed it
.

yeah its been a flippen nightare. seems that it was that wire/rubber combo that holds the hood/piller lining in place that impairs the urethane from sealing properly. i am going with the vt/universal external rubber and gonna try glue the headlining and piller material, completely doing away with that wire/rubber strip? hope it works this time. do yous think that there was any other purpose for that strip ? like cushoining for the window against the window frame metal or will the urethane provide that ( which was what i was hoping )?

I have the same problem with my screen, left hand corner too. The strip you're talking about is there purely to hold the headlining in, but I'm not sure if anyone has come up with a decent alternative, not sure how well gluing the headlining will work.

had a thought last night.I think i am going to look for an automotive strip thats just rubber/plastic without wire through.
got guards off now just going to remove bonnet and boot and wipeback my sanding with prepsol and a tack cloth and i will be ready too paint the interior and inner guards, sills and anywhere else that is covered by plastics or hard to see. so i can practise my paint gun skills which at the moment are zero !!
