Finally some progress... Got a head, sent it out to be surfaced and got the valves grinded, and valve guide seals replaced. Got a new cam from camtech, new lifters..
Hopefully wont be long now. Problem is I can only work on it for a couple hours each day after work..

Almost there, inlet manifolds all bolted up, rocker cover on and a few other bits and pieces..

Block off that breather going to the inlet manifold and send both of them straight to the ground

I understand the reason to move them

But its a factory position, him and a few thousand other people have been fine with it like that so far

Plus the effort factor lol

Ehhh, the slight effort it takes to allen key in the manifold plug, to save a hicomp motor that probably has a fair bit of blow by, i'd do it .

Could be the difference between changing bottom ends lol.

Plan on having it going either tomorrow or friday night Daniel, we'll have to do the rocker cover some other time.

I plan on getting a catch can soon, the car gets parked on grass, and gets driven in fairly dusty areas so would prefer to have everything sealed, or atleast have a filter. In winter I get a lot of condensation buildup where I park it.

Haha, I didn't end up selling it though!
Figure this thread is over due for an update, just in case someone uses these forums anymore

The VL has gotten pretty neglected over the years- paint faded and the rust has taken over. I've just been slowly doing engine mods to it with the intention of having it resprayed down the track. The other night I had a good look over the car and realised the rust couldn't wait any longer so I've ordered the front and rear windshield rust repair panels and gotten to work!

As you can see it's looking pretty worse for wear (Front bar is in the shed, took it off to rework the intercooler piping to suit the forward facing plenum)

Engine bay is looking a bit better though-
Since the last update I've:
Rebuilt the engine and fitted Hypertech low comp pistons
Rebuilt the trans with a shift kit and high stall converter
Redone the exhaust- 3 inch turbo back
Fitted a T4 turbo
Fitted a forward facing plenum
Upgraded the fuel system- Bosch 044, undercar surge tank, 550cc injectors, Sard fuel pressure reg..
Nistune ECU
Oil catch can (Planning on relocating this so its a bit more hidden )
+ what ever I've forgotten.

Didn't take long to get the back end stripped

This explains the water in the boot! Glad this panel will be replaced

Next up I'll be attacking any rust I find in the rear end, then stripping the front end and dash to do the same. All of my knowledge is on the mechanical side of cars so I'm treating this as a bit of a learning experience. I'll try to keep this thread updated as I go!
