Marlin Blue VL project

Hey everyone. This is my new Marlin Blue VL executive. I purchased the car off tascommodores.com. It came with extractors, 2.5 inch exhaust and a pod filter. Im pretty sure it has a lift kit too

I bought the car as it is a better shell than my other vl. It has 115xxxkms on the clock, almost no rust, staight body and mint interior.

In the weeks that i have owned the car I have removed the pinstripe and changed the tail light assembly for a vl berlina setup. Also added a Pioneer CD player with USB. Even though its only running through the stock in dash speakers, its enough for me.

Next thing to do is to change the diff to a 28 spline lsd and swap the power steering rack for a manual one. I can't stand power steering. Swap the brake booster and front calipers. Then I'll convert it to turbo.

The setup consists of an Garrett Highflowed GT35, Extreme manifold, Tial 44mm gate, IC&E igniton setup, rajab forward facing plenum, 230x600mm intercooler, Sonic Fabrications intercooler piping and 4'' dump pipe, 3 inch exhaust, transcooler, malpassi ^15psi fuel reg. I still need to buy another ecu and injectors. I might give Haltech a go this time.

The only exterior mods I want are the moulds and bumpers to be reprayed again in MX grey, new headlights and indicators, a berlina pinstripe and VL turbo hub caps.

This is what it looked like when I bought it

And as it is at the moment, excuse the messy pics

Its a very nice looking turbo. It'll look better in an engine bay though.

Rajab plenum will be here Wednesday. Then I just have to pay for my injectors and ecu and it'll be good to come off the road.

Hopefully I get to keep all my parts this time around!

Well the Rajab plenum still hasn't turned up. I must be the most unlucky person with AusPost. Bought a new Crow TX2 Cam today. Got it pretty cheap and should suit the power range I'm looking for just nicely

I bought some autometer oil pressure and boost pressure gauges through the week.

Do they have a 66mm front compressor wheel? I'm pretty sure my turbo has a t66 front wheel in it.

I guess so, that's why theyre called a t66, it's basically the same as a t04z but bush bearing.

Oh really I didn't know that. So that would mean my turbo is pretty much a to4z?

Cool project you have going here.

Is it going to stay auto? Any plans for the transmission side of things?

Looking forward to seeing it come together

Sounds like it's a 35r with 66 front wheel which is a good combo! T04z has a bigger rear wheel and split pulse housing

Oh wait, I just realised why we are talking turbo size lol, sorry for calling it my cars little brother haha. Kinda turned into a d1ck measuring comp haha!

Good luck with the build dude, make sure you get that baby pinstriped up like a pimp!

Yep staying auto. I have a powerglide going in it. It has a transbrake and 3500 stall. Should be a bit of fun haha

Haha yeah I was only jokin. Your car is twice the car this thing will ever be. Do you feel like measuring the pinstripe lines and gaps for me so I can get it made up in one piece?

Bought my old venetians back tonight for half of what I sold them. I'm swapping a MX7 flywheel for the venetians for the quater windows tomorrow too.
