DIY Bt1 build

Don't ask me why but a mate and myself have bought another Vl! I've currently had 15 odd vls and now got a mint hq Monaro coupe and a factory black Vlct and my mate has heaps of cars but never a Vl and we have decided to build a mint bt1 mock like the one I just sold! Why a bt1 well we love yellow and flogs with genuine ones are asking half the price of a Ferrari so why not make a mock gotta be worth something right? Been asked ll the time to do build thread and can't be bothered but now I finally will, my mate and I will try update as much as we can, timeframe 6-12 Months with doing everything ourselves, paint, engine etc everything!
Well here she is, we found a great base!
1987 factory gold bt1 Na
220k
Mint interior
Map holders
Sump bash plate
Runs mint
In the next month or so plan is to strip all panels, moulds, bars and engine to get ready for paint! Let the pain begin
Cheers fellas dean and Ben

Dougall, down here in melbourne there are so many yellow bt1's its silly. a fair chunk of them were originally white nsw chasers.

Deano: either way it will be a nice car. being yellow gets a lot more appreciation and fun factor from all segments of the car scene whereas the kimberly bronze thing would only impress a vl wanker like myself. plus you'll be able to get a better finish on the yellow at home than on the metallic.

so the plan is to build and sell? definately worth more in yellow.

Drives to a mates, drives ok but needs new front wheel bearings and shockers all round! We also picked up a 90ltr droppy! Plans is to start ripping apart done parts next weekend!

Productive day fellas! Myself and my mate Ben pulled apart the car today ! We removed the bonnet, boot, front bumper, all bumper trims, headlights, indicators, nose cone, opera blinds, window chrome, all badges, taillights, rear bar, side mirrors and a few other bits and pieces all done from 9am till 12, not bad for 3 hours work!!!
