which block/heads to use?

hey guys..

long story short im doin a 383 conversion into my vl and im about send my block n heads to get clearenced machined decked etc etc etc i got two blocks and sets of heads one out of a vr and one out of a vn.. just wanting to know is there any difference in the two? is it easier to get it engineered with the vn one cause its earlier or does the same regualtions apply to the series of motors? neither motor is anything special (not out of a clubbie etc)..

any help would be greately appreciated..

Same block same heads, the only difference was the computer which had more memory and capability including security which required an overide program.

VN and VR blocks are not the same, VR block (and VS/VT) has factory rod clearance underneath for a 5.7 whereas a VN/VP block does not. If you are getting your block clearanced for a 383 then i suggest you start with the VR block as this will entail less work to clearance for the longer stroke of the 383.

As for the heads yes they are identical from VN through to VS.
