have done some more work on the wag this easter weekend.

have nearly finished the battery cable to the starter and alternator.
have tired to hide the battery cable under the brake booster as best as possible.
also have used a factory rubber fire wall mold to run the battery cable safely through the fire wall.

heres some pics...

until next time enjoy

Great thread, keep it coming. You should also think about doing some technical articles to show us how you did some of the wiring.

Ah yes that's a great idea! I'll spend some time soon writing and taking pictures for help on easy stuff. Only trouble is to find some spear time to do it lol. Watch this space***

update for today.

still sorting out wiring in between rain showers and winter storms.
i have got a thermal circuit breaker for alternator circuit wiring.
here's a picture of what ive got. just trying to find battery terminals the right size for it. as the ones ive got are too large.

take a look:

will get some more pics up when installing it with right size terminals and where im going to mount it for easy reset if the fuse happens to over heat.

thats all for now. chur!

---------- Post added 11-08-12 at 17:48 ----------

also forgot to mention some more things i have received.

have got a VSR (voltage sensing relay)for auxiliary/house battery ( or what ever you wana call it as everyone has different names for it)

cant wait to fit it and test it out!

heres the kit:

so what this does is...

Above is the wiring diagram for the VSR.
Pictures give a thousand words.
If u cant read a circuit diagram it basally:
Charges up the main vehicles battery up to 13.2 volts. Then switches over to the auxiliary battery and charges that up until the vehicles main battery drops to 12.7 volts. When the main battery gets to 12.7 volts the VSR switches back over to the vehicles main battery. Easy as pie really.

hey jsobey i like what you did to the wagon it has given me some idea on what to do to my wagon..
when you moved your fuse box to inside the car did you have remove anything for it to fit it in under the dash & another thing where did you place your place your battery in the wagon??

all good thats what its all about - getting ideas out there.
um well thats a good question.
the engine wiring from the fuse box that runs up and over the fire wall (engine side) with the factory clips. i just found a way to run that on the inside of the fire wall. its quite tidy and was kinda easy too (as everything just wanted to sit there like it was factory) i might try get some pics for u this weekend.
the only thing i have running out of the grommet for the factory fuse box is the air flow meter wiring.

ive run the head light wiring in each inner gard.
had to make a new hole just under the aerial hole for that tho.

the battery is just behind the right hand rear tyre. i havnt finished that part yet as im undecided ( and fussy as hell) of where to put the battery.
ive got few options which ill worry about later.

long time no see finally updating

Hi all.
Sorry about not posting for quite some time.
My pc crashed and havnt bening able to up load pics off my phone or pad until now (hopfully if she works haha)

Ok so after moving houses a few times and storing her here there & everywhere. Ive finally got her parked up at a good place where I can under take some hard work.

There is quite a bit of rust around the windscreen so ive taken the screen out.
Didnt take as long as expected. All I used was a large blade knife, flat head screew driver and some old window regulator steel cable I had lien aroound.
First I just tried to cut out the seal with the knife so I could insert the cable. Then I just used the cable to cut around the screen.
I must confess but I did stuff it up. I cut the top of the dash while I was trying to cut along the bottom of the screen. Thats what I get for trying to work to fast and alone.
Sorry I dont have any pics with the screen in.

So got the screen out.... haha yep thats me being an egg standing inside

So screens out and ive gone around the screen and top of A pillars with a stripping wheel to check out whats underneath. So far it doesnt look too bad. Im hoping this weekend ill be able to start cutting away the bad stuff to find good steel to weld to.

Ill post some more pics tomorrow night. Out

So tried to strip all the paint and rust back and this is how it looks...

I've decided to take the gards off and give the hole front end a good clean up/smooth and paint up

Also while the gards are off and she's all jacked up I've got some lil goodies on the way from Aussie... Will show later this month mayb early next month when they arrive can't wait!

But yeah plans at the moment will be to remove the engine. Not sure weather to remove the complete sub frame and just drop the motor to do the engine bay.
Might be easier to just remove the complete subframe... What's the thoughts?

Cheers Jono
