Wonder whether the lack of books show in the final sale price. Bit cheeky relisting a higher price, must've had a bit of interest.

Ten years down the track, you'd think that books could be worth, what 20 grand between two indentical examples...maybe more?

Agree,

Maybe a few years ago having books wasnt an issue, but with the high prices walkies are commanding i wouldnt buy one without them. First thing my wife did when i looked at mine was go for the books.

Does having books really matter when you can get them on ebay? How do you know that the books are the ones that came with the car. A walky should be judged for what it is and not what the service manual says it is. Mine doesn't have books but it's in a lot better condition than some that do, does that make worth less? Sure, a super low kay car like the one on ozzie muscle cars that has everything new books are important, but not for an average walky with average kays. Thats just my opinion.

Books do matter, and can ad value... its part of the car, and it's history, and ad's originality to it.

But with walkys in demand the way they are, people are buying them with or without if they think the car is worthwhile

i'm not saying that books aren't important and I'm not trying to lessen the value of your cars that genuinely have them, but people shouldn't put so much trust in them when we've all seen them for sale on ebay. And thats all I've got to say about that.

I guess it all comes down to what the buyer wants, books are good if your buying one as an investment. I didn't care if mine had the log book or not cause I ain't never selling.

True but if you have history and the original owners details you can make sure its filled out correct. I spoke to the original owner and all the details lined up on mine. But thats still no gaurantee that they havent just copied details on to a new book.

Better than having none at all. Easy way for ppl who buy walkies that have had a few owners to track its activities. i bought mine from original owner, so everything lines up more easily.

I think thats about on the money... no books, 90,000kms.... and the possibly non original build tag. Even if it was re-issued by HSV, it's not the original one.

if it isnt the orginal tag has anyone matched up the build number engine number and body number of this vehicle that it all matches up?

Not too sure, but it has been mentioned b4 thatthe tag was re-issued. Didnt think HSV would do that??

Mack, I've put a post of yours in the WTB walkinshaw section. DON'T post in other threads asking to buy a walkinshaw.

I found out a perfectly good one in Sydney which you turned down. It's since been bought by one of my mates, and it's pretty much faultless. It's now in WA, I have seen it first hand, and you should have bought it when you looked at it.

So for the car you want, you will spent $80k plus now... The only one I know of is the 1570km one for $150,000.
