VL V8 - dedicated LPG

Hey all. I am considering converting My V8 Berlina to dedicated LPG for a couple of reasons. 1. Petrol prices 2. It will be something a little different for Me as I have never owned a car with LPG before.

I was thinking if I do the conversion, would a cam and manifold upgrade be something to think about doing at the same time?

And as for a throttle. Can a run a throttle plate or do I keep the carby?

Sorry if these are total noob questions but I have never been in to V8's or LPG!

Cheers, Locky.

cam and manifold upgrade is def worth a look at the same time.
you could go something using gas research throttle bodys, or a 425 impco on a 4 barrel throttle plate.

if you have the cash i'd look into vapor or liquid injection if you cbf with it

I'm also thinking of going straight gas if and when I get around to having my motor rebuilt. Is a single plane manifold manditory? I've recently replaced mine with a repro manifold that looks factory, but has the brock 2 hole inlet under the carby, plus the inlet chamber floor is ribbed (supposedly a group 3 thing). I'd like to keep this manifold if I can.

I forgot to add, the car will be used for daily duties and the odd towing of the VLT to events.

I am getting quoted up on a conversion today.

Around $2,500 before the $1,250 rebate. I'm leaning towards an EFI conversion now.
