Just quick question
how many vlt where made?
how do u know if yours is original vlt?
if any one in darwin knows how many vlt are up here?

Unknown how many vlts were made, no numbers kept, but from memory about 200,000 vls were made

I have three original vlts at the moment, you can tell if they are genuine by the serial numbers

In Darwin????? who knows

Mate I would say theres only 6-8 VLT's up here. Out of them 2 would be VLCT's. There are 3 Wilky look alikes and 2 original Wilky's. Heaps of n/a's.

Most of my mates run 180SX's, Sylvia's and Skyliners. The rest V8/V6 late model utes. Thats my young mates (17-28). Rest run 4x4's (Toyota's mainly). I'm the oldest at 37, I run a VLT, thats 4 sale and a Toyota Hilux 3.0D dual cab.

aus880 is right there were 200,000 VL'S made and 15,000 Calais Turbo 5 Speed's from factory! Look at your serial number's on the firewall MS1 is turbo auto and MC4 is N/A auto that should help you find out if it's a factory VLT!...

On the Body and Option ID plate at the bottom will be the info for the Eng Trans and Axle. For a VL Turbo the Eng code is LW5 and Trans will be either MS1 (auto) or MX7 (manual).
The Holden VIN plate painted body colour will also tell you what engine is fitted. The 5th digit of the code on this plate will be an 8 for the Turbo engine.
