I buy parts off this guy a bit and he has one but will only sell with the plastic Manual insert as a complete sale which is fair enough.

It's blue, he may post.
Very fair guy to deal with.

Otherwise try using the loctite brand of super glue to fix yours.

It's amazing stuff ($7/8 from Bunnings). I have managed to seal up all my heat issues that were rising up through the gearbox rubbers on the manual surround plate with it.

I used a hot glue gun to stick the boot to the shifter surround.

Holds just as well as super glue under normal conditions but not as "permanent".

Thanks for everyone's help.

I have seen the console piece on rare spares, I guess will give them a call and see if they can get the retainer only.

Cheers

Oh now I get it.

Is it the clips you buy for $5?

http://www.rarespares.net.au/rarespa...product=TC1034

That makes sense now, I thought that the clips were part of securing the retainer lol.

Cheers,I will give them a try.

##still looking for a plastic one though too.

Seem to do the job (clips).
Better than what it was.
Really depends on how good your boot is.

I've tried soaking it in water - it helps to bring out some of the deformities.

they sell the boot seperately but its a shame they went with cheap dodgy clips rather than recreate the stock piece.

Agreed, the clips are flimsy but do the job.
