a smaller engine with less compression and a turbo on the side is always going to feel lazy unless you pump some boost into it, change the diff gears or the stall

up the boost and it will be much more fun once its up in the revs

mmm 2j would have been nice, but at the end of the day this setup cost me roughly $3k including the cars purchase cost. doubt you could get a 2j engine for that!!

now!! who wants an ECOTEC!! would be a great conversion into an n/a with the no turbo laws.

Does your speed-o work? Or have you tricked up a eletronic speed-o out of a skyline to fit? (im assuming you still have the vs dash in)

id imagine that they may work as the speedo sensor appears to be the same as the commodore one.

yeah not too flash atm, blew a head gasket and possibly some damage in the bottom end when we tryed boosing it up to 12pounds. got some more go fast bits for her so when its back together it shouldnt struggle too much to push out 200rwkw, fuel setup should be good for nearly 250 - 280rwkw but i dont see the standard t3 getting us there :P

was great fun driving it around on friday night, the reaction you would get when people around would hear a bonnet load of angry pigeons was rather 'lol'

talking to my mate next to me, recons you had your bottom end built up for some serious power recently? got any thumbs up as to where i should get mine tuned? just been down to rajab he recons $150ph but couldnt really give me an idea as to how long it may take to tune. Cars running nistune software.

this is really unique.

And dont underestimate the power of the t3 lol

One member on here i think, ran a 10.007 with a t3 on 31 psi, and made 385rwkw.

And/Or a 10.9 with a t3 highflow on 22 psi, cant remember exactly.

Nice conversion anyway haha

Vp-luke used a r31 speedo sensor and set the divide signal wire on the cluster to get the speedo right mate
I have a vn calais getting the same Treatment. Afaik it is legal to do rb30 from vn-vr. VS the emission laws changed hence why the ecotec was introduced. So i dont think it will pass engineers unless you went rb25/6 as they come under same emissions. good luck with it mate it is defentily way easier and cheaper to turbo an rb30

no problems with firewall remember the vn was design and tested around vl running gear. The first vn test mule had an rb30 and vn might have had rb30 if it wasnt for a bad aussie dollar. Anywya vb-vs are all basically the same chassis with different bodies and minor changes along the way

Thats no good mate - head gaskets are always the ****ing pain. I had my VL boosting on 14psi on the gasket in there fine. The old t3 still puts the wind up an rb. Injectors and a gt35/40 would be great for a 250rwkw.

HAHAHA - im sure pulling a few tough ones - half the guys on the street wouldnt know what to make of the rampaging pigeons ... I have to see this car now. It would be nothing short of awesome to have to dose full noise up sturtie.

yea just had a good whack of money put into new bottom end, new head (nice way to blow a 1k), new breaks, fresh 4 speed jacto w/ 3g stall (thanks morgz) Ive been told racetec in kirkpatrick drive do a good tune. Im gonna give them a try once the blocks in - just to see what the local guys can do. would rather keep my money local then in melb (dont get me wrong, love the city fellas) And my understanding is they could do a good tune for you mate.

Best of luck getting the angry pigeons .... angry ... again

D.
