accuracy of factory tacho?

just put one of theses on my vl http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....TRK:MEBOFFX:IT

now when the aftermarket tacho is on 5000rpm the factor dash tacho only says 4500.

so how good is the factory tacho?

Yeah, i'd bet the factory tacho is more accurate than an ebay job.

There is a calibration pot on the tacho circuit board, so if you were real keen and knew someone with access to a 'scope you could re-calibrate it. I've also re-calibrated one out of the car using a frequency generator (nerdy electronic stuff).
