my new vl calais

Hey guys and girls,

Just purchased a vl calais off a 74 year old man.

One owner fully original, log books, series 2 1987 build.

128,000 kms. Immaculate condition inside and out, garaged its whole life never driven in rain or dirt roads.

Intentions were, when i finally got another vl i wanted to build a tough street/drag setup. But being such an original and in pristine condition vl calais I dont know whether its worth cutting it up or just buy another shell and build that instead and keep this calais original.

Peoples input is appreciated.
Shane

Keeeep it originaaaal! It's easier to build a tough setup than to find something like this! picspicspics. And yeah value should be worth a bit more down the track, good 'investment' :P

mate its hard to find calais in that condition these days... to be honest i would be taking good care of it, and if u do decide to mod, keep all the stock stuff so u can replace it and have a matching numbers car. price on a thing like that should go up. i mean u can always find a calais nut on here, who is quite keen on keeping things original and sell it? and buy ur self one thats already chopped up so u dont feel as guilty

yeah im leaning to keeping it original im very pedantic about the car. I've been offered 9k for it already but i will never sell it. I wonder what something like this is worth in ten years. Im uploading pics now [COLOR="Silver"]

hahah nice man, my one that i pm'd you about is exactly the same color, 182,000klms, interior as clean as that but faded paint...its factory turbo older brother lol

Looks mint but man, enjoy it and dont mod that one at all, theres nothing better then turning the key and driving a hassle free vl, and if you dont mod it youll never have a problem dude!

Pretty nice matey, I think the color is salmon, I reckon it deserves a turbo or 50i conversion, tint and 16" Aero rims with face plates.

I would modify it just because the car is so clean you can put money into the drivetrain & bolt ons & not have alot more to do.

If you have the money keep this one O.G. and then buy another shell and build that up. But if you don't wanna spend big and you don't plan on selling the VL, then just build it how you want it.
Also, don't keep it O.G. just because everyone tells you to. It's your car, so if you really want to modify it you can, but don't go cutting holes in the guards...

WHERE DO YOU GUYS FIND THESE CARS?!!

obviously not carsales. but seriously. fella's like katsa, always finding the stereotypically old man or old lady or old couple with next to no kilometres on it and looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor lol.
